Introduction :

Girnar mountain is located in Junagadh district. Girnar mountain is the highest mountain in Gujarat. There are many temples of gods and goddesses on Girnar mountain. The temple of Lord Dattatre is located on the highest hill of Girnar mountain. The temple is located at an altitude of 1069 meters above sea level. It is also believed that 33 crore gods and goddesses reside on Girnar mountain. There are many legends associated with Girnar. There are 866 small and big temples in Girnar mountain. To climb Girnar, you have to climb 9999 steps. Girnar mountain was formed by a volcanic eruption. If we sit down to write about Girnar, this will not end, so now let's go to my journey...

Start Of My Journey :

My journey was to begin in the morning. All our friends came to Junagadh the day before. Winter is the best time to climb Girnar. It was December when we climbed. Early morning is a good time to climb Girnar. But many also climb at night. Some devotees climb the Poonam Girnar mountain every month. Girnar mountain is located in Bhavnath area. So we did an autorickshaw from our hotel to Bhavnath. Rickshaws are more popular than taxis in Junagadh and especially in Kathiawar. After reaching Bhavnath, the journey to Girnar begins. The ladder to climb Girnar starts from Bhavnath. When we went to climb, many small children and old people also came to climb Girnar. Girnar is a symbol of faith and belief. All come to climb with their faith and they can also climb. We started climbing at 5 in the morning. Many people even climb with the help of a stick. They say that climbing with the help of a stick reduces fatigue. There are many shops on the steps. There is also a street light so that it does not get dark at short distances. Also, the shops are located a short distance away so that it is easy for the travelers to get anything.

With a little climb, there is a very captivating view all around. Which I have captured in my camera some of which I have shared with you in this post. There is a lot of cleanliness here under the "Clean India" campaign. Toilet facilities are also available at short distances. There are also many monkeys in the short time of the climb. They do not harm the oncoming pilgrims they are quiet by nature. The pilgrims give them fruit and food brought with them.

After a few climbs the greenery begins to fade and large boulders begin to appear. For some people who can't climb Girnar, some people climb there by doly. Those people are called "Tedagar". The Tedagar people charge the pilgrims according to their weight.

After climbing 3800  steps comes the temple of Lord Neminath. Which is visible in the photo. There are Jain derasar. It also has a lot of significance.

Jain deasar has hot water bathing facilities and accommodation. this is the first stop of the journey.

Now we stopped here to rest for a while. I will talk about the rest of the journey in the next post which I will post soon. You can submit your opinion to us through comments.
